Oh yeah - Prince has a Twitter account by the way!! Check it out @3rdeyegirl
So, if you're a fan of Dave Chappelle, you'll most likely be aware of the v. popular 'Prince skit' from 2004. This saw Dave Chappelle dressed up as Prince whilst recalling one of Charlie Murphy's hilarious Hollywood stories. Now, if you look closely at the following single cover you should see Dave Chappelle!
Pancakes?
And here's a sample of the latest single to come from Prince, 'Breakfast Can Wait'
Recently discovered Supreme (majorly late, I know)
Then I found these:
That's Campbell's soup btw, famously iconized by pop artist Andy Warhol
These lovelies are the product of a collaboration between Supreme and VANS. There's also a collection of T-Shirts and caps.
I like the authentic style on the far left. I can imagine these looking pretty awesome with a some of the stuff I wear. Like, Like, Like!
My favourite pair were also worn by Tyler, The Creator (that, of course has not influenced my favourite pair...honest) In fact Tyler and the rest of Odd Future (don't ask me if I know their names, except for Syd the Kid - the only female member) wear a lot of Supreme. It's partly because most of OF skate a lot and get loads of Supreme merchandise.
"Enchilada, I gotta lotta that 'Preme and I'm paying nada,
It seems that I'm product placement but I'm not I'm just fuckin' awesome"
Odd Future 'Rella' lyrics
Nothing beats old skool Black Eyed Peas. Their first album 'Behind the Front' was released in 1998 - with the band's original members, Will.i.am, apl.d.app and Taboo. The whole album is wicked. Here's my favourite song:
I used to eat these crisps. They actually tasted really good. Cheese and chive - let's face it, you can't really go wrong with that. I've spent a good part of my life wishing/longing to try these crisps again, expecting Walkers to bring them back. I'm still waiting.
I'm a fan of Drake. Arguably, after Action Bronson, he's my favourite rapper at the moment. His background - middle class, not 'street', mama's basement living life - is somewhat contrary to what is expected from a rapper. However, that said, I recently discovered Biggie Smalls, went to private school and didn't live in a 'one room shack' as the lyrics in 'Juicy' suggest. Anyway, the point is Drake's alright and I'm a fan.
He's a famous rapper, a far cry from his humble beginnings on Canada's version of Grange Hill, Degrassi. Drake's teenage crush, has slowly come to the surface; Aaliyah - enough said, I think (excuse the pun)
She has featured on a number of Drake tracks,
sampled 'At you're best (you are love)' by Aaliyah on 'Unforgettable'
'We'll be fine' - "Since I saw Aaliyah's precious life go too soon, she deserve the credit for How I'm about to get it"
'Enough Said' - Aaliyah ft Drake.
and...get this, he even has a tattoo of the late singer sketched onto his back, and her birthday January 16th! #serious.
Now, we all know that Drake never met Aaliyah so this is purely a crush/obsession? We also know Aaliyah was close with DMX, who - coincidently - has beef with Drake. *queue sub heading*
Drake DMX Beef
I'll let DMX talk.
The issue revolves around Drake's plan to release a posthumous Aaliyah album without featuring Missy Elliot and Timberland - people Aaliyah actually chose to work with.
Not sure when this album is due, but so far I'm liking what I've heard.
Action Bronson is my new favourite person. Sick flows, sick rhymes and sick recipes.
From what I know already, Action Bronson started off as a chef, with an online cookery show called 'Action in the Kitchen'. Somewhere along the line, he started rappin'. His songs mention various recipes and food types and his last album's called 'Bon Appitite .... Bitch !!!!!!!!!!' featured a track called, 'Chilli Chicken Hakka Style'
I'd say 2013 is a crucial year for Action Bronson. Given his rapidly growing fan base and the quality of his music so far, I think it's about time Action Bronson hit the mainstream. There's signs of this happening as Action Bronson features on '1 Train' on ASAP Rocky's latest album Long. Live. ASAP.
So far he's worked with a wide variety of artists, from French Montana, Asher Roth to Ghostface Killah. He's also featured on Tim Westwood's Crib Sessions and is due to preform at Coachella this April.
Here's some of my fave Action Bronson pics, vids and gifs. Diggg this...
A gif taken from the music video 'The Symbol'
Yep, that's a blonde wig.
Album art for 'The Symbol' - featuring a cartoon version of AB surrounded by loads scantily dressed women .
Yep, that's right, AB's doing the splits. Not sure if he's that flexible in real life?...
looks pretty vintage. #like
The music video for 'Imported Goods', from the album 'Bon Appitite .... Bitch !!!!!!!!!!'
I'm not going to say too much cos it will spoil it for you, but just watch this.
"OMG, this sandwich is amazing" - Ashley Smith
"your 5ft and you're blondie, that's a package - we can sell you like that" - Nicki Minaj
"there's something about you that's very effervescent" - Mariah Carey
Ashley never made it to Hollywood, don't know where she went to, but I'm sure she'll reappear someday, no doubt, at the top of the charts.
Clock Mariah's facial expression when she walks in! lol.
I've been on a safari. Not an actual safari, but an emotional journey. One, that has taken me through the good times, the bad and the awkward. Zoanette - not even sure if that's her name is real?!?, but that's irrelevant, she's an American Idol legend - as far as I have anything to do with it.
She impressed the judges with her first audition and continued to stand out as an outrageously passionate performer (or just a lil' over the top)
Check her out!
Zoanette's first audition... blimey.
Zoanette performs a song she wrote about the judges.
This is her X Factor audition where she performed 'Bring it on Home' by Sam Cooke. Not only is this my favourite X Factor Audition of all time, it's also the best X Factor contestant story. Panda ignored medical advice and left hospital where she was being treated for pneumonia, to meet her beau - Simon Cowell. She wore a necklace with the word 'Single', to make it clear to Simon that she was available, to which he replied "I've always wanted a Panda...I'm going to give you one".
Her performance is actually really good, she sings with such soul!
Don't worry, Panda appears to have made a full recovery, and you can become an official 'Fanda' of Panda on her Facebook page and her website http://www.pandaross.com/
